City & Housing Tips

Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, and Cabarete/Sosúa have expat communities. Santo Domingo has the best vet infrastructure. The north coast is popular with long-term expats. Pet culture is developing.

Vets & Common Parasites

Moderate vet care in Santo Domingo. Limited elsewhere. A few English-speaking vets serve the expat community. Costs are affordable. Tropical parasites and tick-borne diseases are concerns.
