Sea Travel Hub

Ferries, cruise ships & rail tunnels — every option for crossing water with your cat. Pet cabins, kennels, and vehicle policies compared.

Choose the right sea route

For cats, the accommodation type matters more than the ferry brand.

A short car-deck crossing can be fine for a calm cat in mild weather. Overnight sailings are different: book a pet cabin where available, bring a secure carrier and litter setup, and verify the exact vessel before paying. Ferry policies vary by route, ship, season and passenger type, so treat every booking as route-specific.

Best for cats

Pet cabins on overnight routes, because your cat can settle with you away from public areas.

Acceptable short hop

Vehicle-only crossings under two hours, if temperature and ventilation are controlled.

Foot passenger check

Many ferry operators restrict pets to vehicle bookings. Check this before planning rail connections.

Do not assume

A pet-friendly operator may still have non-pet vessels, sold-out pet cabins, or route-specific limits.
