Verified January 2025 · Checked against official government sources

Official Import Rules

Yemen requires a valid rabies vaccination certificate, an international veterinary health certificate issued within 10 days of travel, and microchip identification. An import permit from the Ministry of Agriculture may be required.

Due to the ongoing conflict, import procedures are severely disrupted. Requirements may differ between areas controlled by different factions.

Contact the nearest Yemeni embassy for guidance, and be prepared for unpredictable procedures on arrival.

City & Housing Tips

Aden is the temporary capital and main port city. Sana'a is the traditional capital but under different control. Both have extremely limited companion animal veterinary services.

Vets & Common Parasites

Veterinary infrastructure has been devastated by conflict. Bring all medications, food, and supplies your cat will need for an extended period.
