City & Housing Tips
Ulaanbaatar is the only city with meaningful infrastructure. Nearly half of Mongolia's population lives here. Vet care is basic but improving. The extreme climate (-30°C winters, +35°C summers) requires indoor-only cats for most of the year.
Vets & Common Parasites
Limited vet care in Ulaanbaatar with a few adequate clinics. Outside UB, vet care for companion animals is virtually nonexistent. Extreme winter cold (-30 to -40°C) means cats must be kept indoors. Bring essential medications.
